Proofpoint, a key player in the Cybersecurity domain, was poised for growth but faced a critical bottleneck: a lack of sufficient staffing to generate, refresh, and implement content. This is where Menerva Digital stepped in, seizing control of the content strategy for the glossary section of Proofpoint’s site.
Cybersecurity professionals are on a constant quest for knowledge. Our strategy was to harness this curiosity, creating glossary pages that were both educational and optimized to rank for pertinent search queries. Our approach involved industry and keyword research, a comprehensive content gap analysis, and the generation of content suggestions and outlines driven by SERP research. Our team of writers and editors crafted the content, which was then meticulously optimized by our SEO experts.
Our creative process drew upon a wide range of resources, including industry blogs, competitor analyses, business reports, and insights from product marketing managers, ensuring our content was comprehensive and on the pulse of industry trends.
The results speak for themselves: we helped Proofpoint achieve a 139% increase in organic traffic, a 66% increase in the sales pipeline from organic search, and a 53% increase in keywords ranking in positions 1-3 on Google between June 2022 and April 2023.

Menerva Digital won the U.S. Search Award for best use of search, retail/ecommerce (SEO) with our esteemed client, Maisonette.
Maisonette was grappling with significant challenges: the non-visibility of filtered pages in search results, a discrepancy between their existing content and the prevalent search terms, and an absence of optimized dynamic metadata templates on their site. Through in-depth research and comprehensive content gap analysis, we identified millions of keywords not being utilized to their full potential. To tackle these issues, as well as concerns related to duplicate content, we crafted complex filtering rules. In close partnership with the engineering team, we formulated an exhaustive action plan rooted in the insights gleaned from our content gap analysis. Our concerted efforts resulted in a 46% boost in keywords ranking in the top three positions on Google (U.S.), alongside a 33% year-over-year increase in organic traffic.
